TV Azteca wins Promax prize for RealFlow animations

TV Azteca, one of Mexico’s biggest and most important television channels, has won the prestigious Promax World Gold Award for the brand and image design of Proyecto 40, at this year’s Promax International Conference in New York.

Art Director and Senior Animator Cesar Esparza, who did most of the work on the design, animation and composition, was very happy to win an award for the clips, for which he made extensive use of RealFlow. Esparza said: “We have been awarded the Promax Awards for ‘Best Branding/Image Worldwide’ and that is a great achievement.”

He explained how his team used RealFlow to create stunning simulations: “The Proyecto 40 logo consists of three spheres, which we wanted to animate in a very organic way. So we came to the conclusion that the spheres should be liquid-based. RealFlow3 made our lives easier as it was extremely simple to get these results. We wanted to continue with a fluid line, so the promo endings and program schedules were all animated with fluid backgrounds. We also used RealFlow for the promo bar for a documentary called Fusion. The fluid was used to create the logo.”

The Promax Awards are recognized around the globe as the ultimate honor for promotion and marketing professionals and outstanding design contributions in today’s broadcast industries and electronic media. The Awards are presented to companies and individuals whose work is judged by a panel of experts using three measures: overall creativity; production quality; and results in achieving marketing objectives. The Promax Association represents more than 500 television stations as well as more than 3,000 individual members in 70 countries.
